Read This First: Ipamorelin Isn't an Approved Drug

Ipamorelin is a small synthetic peptide that acts on the ghrelin receptor to prompt the release of growth hormone. It went through clinical trials as a potential medicine but was never approved by the FDA for any use.

In October 2024, the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted against adding ipamorelin (12 no, none yes, one abstention) to the 503A bulk substances list, which means pharmacies don't have a clear legal path to compound it (APC). Growth hormone secretagogues like ipamorelin are also banned at all times on the WADA prohibited list.

Most ipamorelin sold online is labelled "for research use only." We don't recommend buying peptides that way. This page doesn't suggest a dose. It only converts an amount you've been given into syringe units.

How to Use the Ipamorelin Dosage Calculator

Step 1: Enter your vial size in mg. Use the amount printed on the vial. The calculator converts mg to mcg (1 mg is 1,000 mcg).

Step 2: Enter the bacteriostatic water you added. If your vial came pre-mixed, use the concentration on the label instead: a vial labelled 2.5 mg/mL is the same as 5 mg in 2 mL.

Step 3: Choose your syringe. Ipamorelin amounts are in micrograms and usually come out under 30 units, so a 0.3 mL (30 unit) syringe gives you the finest markings.

Step 4: Enter the amount in mcg. The presets are shortcuts, not recommendations.

With the defaults shown, a 5 mg vial mixed with 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL (2,500 mcg/mL), so each unit holds 25 mcg and 250 mcg is 10 units. With 1 mL of water instead, the same 250 mcg is 5 units.

Using a CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin Blend

Ipamorelin is often sold in one vial with CJC-1295. Tick Blend next to the vial amount and enter each peptide with its mg. Then set Dose Based On to the ipamorelin, the CJC-1295, or the whole blend, depending on what your amount refers to. The result shows how much of each peptide you're drawing.

Ipamorelin Units to mcg Conversion Table

100 units on a U-100 syringe is always 1 mL. How many micrograms that holds depends on your concentration.

1 mg/mL is a 2 mg vial in 2 mL, 2.5 mg/mL is a 5 mg vial in 2 mL, and 5 mg/mL is a 10 mg vial in 2 mL. The formula is: units = amount in mcg ÷ concentration in mcg/mL × 100.

At very small readings, a single unit mark makes a real difference. Our peptide syringe units guide covers how to read them. There's also a dedicated CJC-1295 calculator, the general peptide calculator, and PeptideKit to log every dose.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate ipamorelin units?

Divide the vial's mcg (mg × 1,000) by the mL of water added. Divide the amount you need by that concentration and multiply by 100 for U-100 syringe units.

How many units is 100 mcg of ipamorelin?

At 2.5 mg/mL (5 mg in 2 mL), 100 mcg is 4 units. At 1 mg/mL, it's 10 units. At 5 mg/mL, it's 2 units. This is a conversion example, not a suggested dose.

How much ipamorelin is in 10 units?

10 units is 0.1 mL. At 1 mg/mL that's 100 mcg, at 2.5 mg/mL it's 250 mcg, and at 5 mg/mL it's 500 mcg.

What is the right ipamorelin dosage?

There's no FDA-reviewed dosing for ipamorelin because it isn't an approved drug. Talk to a licensed clinician before using it.

Why does the blend matter for my units?

In a blend, the vial's total mg is split between two peptides. If you enter only the ipamorelin mg and forget the CJC-1295 is in there too, the concentration is still right for ipamorelin, but you won't see the CJC-1295 you're drawing alongside it. The Blend option shows both.
